Horses get pedicures to!

The horses had the farrier come to! A farrier is the name of the person that does their hoofs.
The horses hoof is a bit like a huge thick fingernail. It keeps growing so needs to be trimmed back every 8 weeks. Our horses do not wear shoes as they dont do allot of work on the roads, road work would file the hoof down as they walk or trot on the hard surface.
They also have a triangular shaped leathery flesh part in the middle of there hoof called the Frog. This also has to be cut down. The farrier uses four instruments to achieve the job. They are called Hoof Nipper, Rasp, Hoof knife and hoof stand. Our horses love getting there hoofs done.
